Representatives approved the Law for Sexual Health and Reproduction

The chamber of representatives approved by a very close poll (49 to 48 votes out of 99 possible) the mentioned law. They very many position changes during the discussion of the law as before it appeared that same would get around 55 to 60 votes.

The session which started at 3 pm yesterday had several interruptions. The first due to a bomb threat at 3:50 pm and later due to disturbs from the puiblic assisting to the discussion at 5:30 pm. The final votation was at 6 am this morning. Several representatives changed their minds from one side to the other (both ways) and some changes to the original law were made. For that reason the law will have to be discussed again at the Senate.

The Representatives also send a message to the President asking him not to put a veto on the law, but to put same for a plebiscite next year during the elections last sunday in October. The President has not made a comment up to now, but it is assumed that he will put the veto on this law anyway.
