Climate

Given its location in the temperature southern area of the hemisphere, Uruguay enjoys a moderate climate. The average temperature during spring is 17ºC (63ºF), during summer  25ºC (77ºF), during fall 18ºC (64ºF) and in winter 12ºC (54ºF).

The country is found under the periodic influence of the tropical air from the north and from the polar region in the south. The most characteristic winds are warm ones from the north; the humid cold winds - the "sudestadas" - from the southeast; and the "Pampero" from the south, which originate in the Patagonian Andes.
